Having your first apartment is fun and exciting. Furnishing said apartment is also fun, but can be daunting and expensive as well. I’ve started to hone in on what it is I really like to surround myself with. I love warm wood tones, metallics, whites and black, with a pop of green (in the form of house plants and succulents). I love perusing interior design stores here in LA, most of them are out of my price range, but I take that inspiration and look elsewhere. Crate and Barrel and it’s sister company CB2 are both places where I feel comfortable purchasing for my home. Everything I have from Crate and Barrel has lasted and will for years to come, and CB2 always has quirky items like these fun pig bookends (that won’t break the bank). Above are some pieces that I love, most in an affordable price range, that fit with our aesthetic. A carpenter style lamp is something I had in my room growing up, it’s adjustable which is great for tailoring the light for reading, writing, and crafting. This Entu side table from Crate and Barrel is super versatile and acts as a nightstand, side table, or stand for your record player and storage for vinyl. It can be turned on its side, or sat up tall like an “S” for more height. Oh, and It’s Teak wood, so its super durable…this guy is on my list! Another easy and inexpensive way to add personality to any room is with art prints. I love this Prada Marfa print, its $14 and you can add whatever frame you like… it would be great in gold or silver. I’m always trying to emulate the outdoors in my decor, so these moon chargers are pretty spot on, and add one of these handmade funky terrariums and you’re set.
